Comer exposes transactions between Biden brothers: 'They pulled something out of their rear end'

Rep. James Comer (R-KY) said Tuesday that House Republicans have proved President Joe Biden "benefited from his family's influence-peddling scheme" amid new revelations that Biden received $200,000 from his younger brother.
Comer, the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, said that James Biden, the president's younger brother, had given the cash payment to the elder Biden back in 2018 and was given on the same day James Biden received a $200,000 loan from one of his business ventures, Americore. The White House has stated that Biden had loaned his younger brother money, with James Biden's check stating "loan repayment," Comer told Fox Business.
"Now, I don't believe he did, Larry," Comer said while appearing on Kudlow. "But whatever, let's just say they pulled something out of their rear end that says Joe Biden loaned Jim Biden money. Either way, Jim Biden, and we have his personal bank records, I can say with confidence, had no money to pay Joe Biden back other than that $200,000 wire that came from Americore health company.”

Comer went on to say that Americore, which was going bankrupt when it sent $200,000 to James Biden, stated that bankruptcy court documents "meticulously" showed what the younger Biden did to receive the massive payment, adding that James Biden knew that Americore was in bad financial shape. He also said James Biden told Americore that if it paid Biden money, "I can use my brother's contacts in the Middle East" to help the company become financially stable again.
"That's called influence peddling, and that's what we've proven that Joe Biden benefited," Comer said. "He either made $200,000 or he didn't lose $200,000. Either way, he's $200,000 ahead because of his influence-peddling scheme."
Comer reported on Friday that the Biden brothers were involved together financially. The White House said the claims amounted to little more than a distraction, with Democrats on Comer's House Oversight Committee saying the Kentucky Republican has more bank records available that he's withholding in order to protect the narrative.
"This is ‘failure theater’ that is intended to be a ‘shiny object’ to distract people from how they are incapable of doing the basics of governing," White House spokesman Ian Sams said in a prepared statement. "It’s no coincidence they rushed out a new distraction mere minutes after yet another failed speaker vote."
The claims made by Comer about Biden's brother come as the Biden family continues to face scrutiny over Hunter Biden, the president's son. The House of Representatives is pressing forward with its investigations into Hunter Biden this week despite the House's continuing search for a new speaker in the wake of Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) being ousted from the role.
